DISCLAIMER - This application was built as a proof of concept ONLY. It is not meant for use as an official means of predicting the actual likelihood of a wildfire.

How This Application Works

By taking in geographic coordinates the user enters, the Wildfire Predictor uses a combination of location and key weather data to determine the likelihood of a wildfire in the user's selected area.

First enter latitude and longitude coordinates. The coordinates should be in the decimal format, such as the following example for Huntington, New York (40.8682, -73.4257). Click "submit" and the app will use the displayed weather data to calculate the threat level for a wildfire in that area. Click on "reset" to clear results or start over.
